Action and the Law of Attraction

Action and the Law of Attraction
I have two sons and one daughter. Of the three, my 8-year-old son Brayden is the best at attracting money...and pretty much anything else he decides he wants. Whenever we go to the park or the movie theater, he almost always brings in a haul. Here's what he does...At the theater, when the show is over and the rest of us are watching the credits roll, Brayden says, "I'll meet you by the games!" He runs out to the small arcade area and starts looking under machines. It is common for us to come out and find him sprawled on his stomach with his entire arm stuck under an Arctic Cat game machine. He almost always comes away with a dollar or more in change and tokens. Here's what else happens. At least twice,a sympathetic adult has taken sympathy on what appears to them to be a poor, deprived child who is desperate to play games. Both gave him money...one mom handed him a dollar bill! Little do they know he really wants candy, not games. But the point is, he wants to find money and he does, whether as a hand out or by sticking his hand under. And it works every time. The theater isn't the only place Brayden attracts what he wants. Whenever he sees something he wants, he'll just go and ask for it. Now this is partially due to innate bravery and part to training. When he was little and wanted to ask for something, I would tell him "It never hurts to ask." I was originally encouraging him to ask for things in situations where asking would be appropriate, like whether a friend could come play or whether he could pet someone's dog. Brayden expanded this strategy one day at the park. Someone was having a birthday party and Brayden could see a tray of cupcakes sitting out on the picnic table. He asked, "Mom, can I go ask if I can have a cupcake?" Of course I said, "No, that's not appropriate." He fired back, "But you said it never hurts to ask!"
